Level 2 – Blueprint Reading workshop

In this two-day workshop(2 Gold Seal credits), participants practice reading and interpreting drawings and specifications on a complete set of working drawings for Architectural, Structural, Mechanical and Electrical works. They coordinate multi-disciplinary graphical and written information to scope the work of multiple trades.

After completing this workshop participant will be able to:

  • Interpret graphical information shown on a complete set of working drawings for commercial buildings
  • Coordinate graphical and written information on Architectural, Structural, Mechanical and Electrical drawings
  • Analyze information on schedules relative to plans, elevations, section and details.
  • Identify errors and omissions on construction drawings
  • Scope the work of multiple trades

Clint Kissoon, President of FENAK Estimating Services Ltd., is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor (MRICS), Chartered Construction Manager (FCIOB), a Professional Quantity Surveyor (PQS(F)), and has written and published several construction textbooks including Cost Control for Contractors, Estimating in Building Construction, and is the Technical Author for the RICS/CIQS Project Monitoring Guidance Note. Clint was the 2009 recipient of the Construction Institute of Canada (TCIC) Chancellor’s award for excellence.
