The Canadian Construction Documents Committee (CCDC) will be providing a training on the CCDC 2 – ‘Stipulated Price Contract’ with the publication of the new 2020 edition of the document coming this summer.
The latest edition of the CCDC 2 will have some important differences from the previous version, including the introduction of the new ‘Ready-for-Takeover’ project milestone, new provisions addressing early occupancy by the Owner, the transfer of some clauses to the new Division 01 document, and more. In addition to explaining these changes and the reasons behind them, the seminar will cover the principles and usage of the key CCDC 2 clauses. Attendees will also get a complete, first-hand look at the new CCDC 2 wording ahead of the official publication.
The seminar will also include training on the new CCDC Master Specification for Division 01 ‘General Requirements’. This brand new, fully editable specification template allows the user to customize and tailor their specifications to their project. Seminar attendees will learn how to most effectively use the document, including which areas require careful attention and coordination with other sections.
An overview of the new CCDC 31 ‘Service Contract Between Owner and Consultant’ contract will also be provided.
Like all CCDC publications, these three new documents were created by owners, architects, consulting engineers, contractors, specification writers, and legal professionals and are fully endorsed by ACEC, CCA, CSC, and RAIC. Each session will end with a Q&A period, so attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions directly to those who drafted the documents. Attendees will also receive copies of the CCDC 2, Division 01, and CCDC 31 documents, an approximate value of $400.
These seminars are the best way to learn how to properly use these documents and to get prepared for the changes that are coming, so don’t wait to register!
